Al Qana is Putting the Final Touches to Complete Abu Dhabi’s Social Entertainment Destination

  • Per schedule, the construction of the project is now overall 90% complete
  • The National Aquarium, the Middle East’s largest aquarium, achieved 95% completion
  • Other key anchors and areas of the destination including the marina, landscaping, connecting bridges and utilities are set to be ready and operational soon
  • Al Qana is confident the destination will help reinvigorate the tourism and entertainment sectors in the capital and across the UAE once opened

Al Barakah International Investment, developer of Al Qana in Abu Dhabi, today revealed the latest progress of its much-anticipated waterfront social dining and entertainment destination. As promised and despite the challenges, the construction of the project in on schedule and is currently 90% complete as the year comes to an end.

The waterfront destination spanning an area of 2.4 km, forms Al Qana. Visitors will be able to access state-of-the art facilities including The National Aquarium, The Bridge Wellness and Lifestyle Hub, Cinemacity Al Qana, Pixel (E-Sports and gaming hub) and exciting dining and entertainment activities for families and children.

Commenting on the progress of Al Qana and the market situation, Fouad Mashal, CEO of Al Barakah International Investment, developer of Al Qana said:

“Al Qana is our ultimate touristic project that will provide a very unique experience we all envision for the Entertainment and Tourism sectors in the UAE. As the tourism sector recovers from the travel restrictions due to the pandemic, Al Qana would be ready to receive visitors in 2021. We are almost there, and it will be worth the wait! 2021 is the year we and the UAE celebrate the country’s 50th anniversary.

“Our top priority is to adapt to the new social norms in place to ensure the safety of visitors coming to this special social destination. Our team is working on new protocols and procedures with the relevant authorities to ensure the required guidelines are applied fully at our premises. There are exciting times ahead of us and Al Qana will be a unique contribution to this.”

Despite the unexpected market conditions due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Al Qana team has been working around the clock to deliver this world-class project to the UAE’s capital.

Al Qana also reported new milestones achieved for a number of different areas of the project:

  • 95% of The National Aquarium, Middle East’s largest aquarium is completed
  • 85% of Al Qana Cinema construction work is completed
  • 85% of landscaping is completed
  • Food & Beverage outlets gearing up to take handover of their units
  • The Marina and its 100 berths are 100% installed
  • 85% of The Bridge Wellness hub construction work is completed
