This Code of Ethics and Business Conduct defines the standards for conduct in all business, legal and ethical matters carried out in the course of daily business and should be strictly adhered to. This code establishes a clear guideline of behavior for all of Al Qana’s employees in every business unit to ensure that employees are in no doubt as to how they should conduct themselves in order to uphold the good name and professional standard that Al Qana strives to maintain.
Al Qana is direct, clear and ethical in its communications and actions. We speak with honesty and courage and are accountable for what we do. The reputation of Al Qana is of fundamental importance and as such this code is designed to provide a framework within which everybody can operate with a view to avoid any dealings that could give rise to criticism that may be harmful to Al Qana’s or the employee’s reputation. It is the responsibility of each department head to implement, promote and monitor compliance with a code throughout their business unit. All employees of Al Qana are expected to review and abide by the letter and spirit of this code.
This code may be reviewed and changed by Al Qana from time to time, without notice, to suit its business needs.

Al Qana’s policy about ethical business conduct reflects the kind of company it strives to be, and a fundamental part of being an Al Qana employee is respecting and adhering to them. Policy violation can create a significant liability for the Company, Liabilities may not only result in monetary damages but may even threaten Al Qana’s public image and ability to do business

The Company’s employees are the key to the success of the business- the Company’s excellent level of service is a result of their expertise and solid understanding of the markets they operate in.
The company’s employees are its most valuable resource and as such all employees shall conduct themselves in a manner that will foster cooperation among staff members, showing respect, courtesy and professionalism in their dealings with one another and shall foster an atmosphere of open communication and honesty.
The Company’s values include ethical actions, honesty, respect for others and teamwork. The diversity of the Al Qana’s employees is a tremendous asset and Al Qana is firmly committed to providing equal opportunity in all aspects of employment and shall not tolerate any discrimination or harassment based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin or any other protected class.
Any act of discrimination is viewed extremely seriously by Al Qana and will constitute a serious disciplinary offence up to and possibly including dismissal.
The following standards are expected to be maintained by all the employees, regardless of the position:-
- Employees shall at all times and in all respects conduct themselves with the utmost propriety to protect and further the interest of Al Qana and shall respect and comply with all laws, culture and traditions of the United Arab Emirates.
- Employees shall ensure that all actions and behaviors promote the favorable image of Al Qana, its management and its officers.
- Employees are obliged to uphold and protect the good name and reputation of Al Qana. Disputes and disagreements between an employee and Al Qana must be resolved internally and under no circumstances may an employee discredit Al Qana or any of its officers through spurious and unfounded accusations.
- Should an electronic data device be lost, damaged or stolen the employee must notify the Admin / Human Resource Department immediately.
- Employees should be aware that both their private and public behavior can affect their reputation and that of Al Qana.
- Consumption of alcohol during working hours or reporting for work under the influence of alcohol is strictly prohibited and such an act constitutes gross misconduct which may lead to instant or summary dismissal.
- Use of the internet for non-work related matters during office hours is discouraged. Any activities requiring undue bandwidth usage such as downloading of music, videos, etc. as well as so-called chat programs such as MSN, Google chat, Facebook, twitter etc. will not be permitted under any circumstances.
- The financial policies and procedures set by Al Qana relating to purchase of good and services, petty cash, collection and handling of monies and keeping of accounts must be strictly adhered to. Employees should not accept cash under no circumstances from Tenants.
- Employees attending exhibitions, conferences or any other company function should dress professionally and appropriately; wear their name tag and be on their best behavior. Employees should ensure that they are on time for such exhibitions/conferences and should man the booth when required to do so.
- Employees’ should report any clients’ complaints to their department heads with immediate effect- failure to do so is a serious offense and could result in disciplinary action being instituted.
- Employees are expected to report for work as scheduled and on time. Excessive absenteeism and/or lateness is disruptive to Al Qana and fellow employees and may lead to disciplinary action.
- All contracts to be entered between Al Qana and a third party must be sent to legal department to be reviewed prior to the contract being sent to MD for signature.
- Employees must at all times conduct themselves with the highest degree of professionalism and integrity.
- Company facilities and equipment may only be used for professional purposes and consistent with Al Qana’s aims and objectives.
- CCTV is installed in the reception area to provide a safe and secure environment for all employees and to protect the confidential data of Al Qana and its employees.
